Screenplay
by Scott Amour and CV Herst --Based on a novel by Scott Amour.
Darkly complex Jack Irvine, a recovering
alcoholic troubled by disturbing dreams, is lured away to Jakarta,
and to adventure, by his old friend Andy Anderson. They quickly
find employment through the wealthy and charismatic Francis
McQuire, but their new job has a twist -- the charming attorney
wants them to help smuggle a large cache of arms to Fretilin
guerillas opposing Indonesian tyranny in East Timor.
Things get
complicated fast when McGuire's scheme is backed by a motley
collection of clandestine groups representing the Catholic Church,
Portugal, Irish-American Catholics, and the Chinese Army. To
make matters worst, Jack is being pursued by Cecil Washington,
a CIA operative. Suddenly, the Indonesian Army surprises the
Fretilin forces -- just as they are unloading the arms shipment!
A fierce firefight breaks out. McGuire commandeers a taxi and
heads for the skirmish. Jack and Andy have only 48 hours left
before they are kicked out of Jakarta. Will they fulfill their
mission? Can they beat the clock? Who knows. Anything is possible
